Have you ever watched a child open what they thought to be their last gift only to find out the biggest gift of all was still to come? Their joy and energy is almost uncontainable.
As we look through this passage, that is exactly what Christ offers to us. Not only did we see yesterday that He came to give us life, we see today that He wants to give us life to the fullest or life more abundantly.
Imagine getting a small bite of your favorite Christmas dessert. It simply leaves you wanting more. God's promise to us is not that we will have a small bite of life but that we will have life to the fullest. When we are full we want nothing else and are completely satisfied. The abundant life God offers to us through a relationship with His Son leaves us full and wanting nothing more.
Is it possible our desire for more is simply a result of us not having what is best? God's desire is that we would have the best and have all of it. Allow Jesus Christ to fill your life this season in a way that causes you to want nothing else. When the enemy throws a lesser gift your way, confidently say, "No thanks, I am full."
Prayer: Lord, help us to know the fullness of who you are so that we might experience not just life, but life to the fullest.
