24 Hours With God Camp Jon Center, Edwardsville, Illinois
October 19-20, 2012
FCAW Mission "Lived Out" at Edwardsville Camp
"There are times in this ministry," says FCAW National Director Carl Perry, "that I know I have just witnessed God's hand at work. The
24 Hours With God Camp in Edwardsville was one of those times."
On October 19-20, over 60 athletes and coaches participated in this weekend event that was held at the Jon Center in Edwardsville, Illinois, and was led by a power-packed group of men in the wrestling and Christian community. Heath Eslinger, head wrestling coach at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, served as the camp chaplain and delvered three impactful messages based on the camp theme of "3 Gs: Get in, Gear up, and Go out." Donovan McMahill, assistant wrestling coach at Southern Illinois University, did an awesome job in leading the coaches Bible study group by challenging them in their day-to-day Christian walk. On Friday, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist Jordan Burroughs and University of Illinois standout B.J. Futrell shared their insights on both the techniques of wrestling and the importance of their faith.
At the conclusion of the camp, four high school athletes and one high school coach talked about accepting Christ and the impact this camp had on their life.
